Monvara Vanity is the second house from the people behind Monvara Concepts. The first store is about the rooms you share. This one is about the one corner you don't: the desk, the mirror and the seat where the day starts and ends.
We noticed that most vanity furniture is sold one of two ways. Either it is built to a price, with lights that flicker and drawers that stick, or it is priced for a showroom, with a markup for the name on the door. We wanted the third option: pieces chosen the way a designer would choose them, at the price they cost to make well.
Every piece here is picked for how it works at seven in the morning. Bulbs that show your face honestly, in a warm or cool light you can tune. Drawers that close without a sound. Stools that hold you for as long as it takes. Trays cut from real stone, because the small things on the surface deserve the same care as the surface itself.
The palette is bone, oak, brass and glass. Nothing that shouts. Build the corner one honest piece at a time, and it will still look right in ten years.
